Pressure Recording Analytical Method (P.R.A.M.)

 

Differing from the other methods also based on the analysis of the arterial pressure signal (PCM, Pulse Contour Methods), the evaluation of Cardiac Output by PRAM requires neither calibration procedures, nor anthropometric data (height, weight, age and gender) to refer to experimental in-vitro measurements.

 

PRAM is just based on the objective analysis of the whole arterial pressure wave morphology (both systole and diastole) at every heartbeat, with sampling rate of 1000Hz and automatic detection of all significant curve points: systolic and diastolic points, dicrotic notch and points of instability.

These points and the wave contour are evaluated and weighted according to the application of the physical theory of perturbations, in order to obtain the systemic impedance and the haemodynamic parameters.

 

PRAM methodology, independent from any calibration or reference data, can be applied to any patient without limitations, in both stable and instable conditions. Critical patients, septic patients, paediatric patients and patients with Intra Aortic Balloon Pumb (IABP) or other external mechanical support can be monitored with MostCare.

The objective analysis of the pressure waveform provides additional parameters for the determination of preload (SVV, PPV, SPV and DPV) and cardiac functionality (dP/dt, CCE).

 

 

   SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE SYSTEM

 

Mini-Invasive: it requires only an artherial pressure signal (i.e. radial or femoral access). It is also possible to connect the MostCare with the bedside patient monitor, in order to obtain the pressure wave.

 

Plug and Play System: it does not increase the time of the procedures usually performed in the clinical routine.

 

Complete Monitoring: cardiac output and all principal haemodynamic parameters are monitored beat-to-beat. 

 

Effective with paediatric patients and patients with I.A.B.P.: neither external calibration procedures nor patient data are required; MostCare can be applied to any type of patient, included paediatric patients, patients with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and patients with haemodynamic system influenced by mechanical supports.

 

 

VERSATILITY

 

Open System: it does not require dedicated consumable. MostCare works with catheters and pressure transducers normally on the market or with analog signals from the bedside monitor.

 

Portable System: MostCare is easy to install, compact, portable and easily transferable from patient to patient.

 

Flexible Cost: reduced and customizable cost per patient; time-based or use-based cards are available.

 

Data Transfer: it is possible to store MostCare data on a PC for processing, analyzing or studying purposes.
